A New Push to Get Low-Income Students Through College

David Leonhardt of the New York Times detailed the new initiative led by Bloomberg Philanthropies to get low-income students through college. Today, only one in three top-performing students from the bottom half of the income distribution attends a college with a high (+70%) graduation rate. Within five years, the coalition's goal is to get at least half of low income students into these schools.
